Two Delta Air Lines baggage handlers at LAX were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars in cash and other passenger items, according to Los Angeles Airport Police.
The suspects, Trammel Nelson, 37, and Shaun Green, 23, were arrested at their Los Angeles-area homes at 6 a.m. by the LAX Crime Task Force, which is made up of Los Angeles Police Department and LAX officers.
”The search and arrest was completed without incident,” said LAX Police Sgt. Belinda Nettles.
The suspects were arrested for allegedly being in felony possession of stolen property, according to police. Police are also investigating whether the incident is part of a larger criminal ring.
“Delta will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and other authorities in their investigation. The employee has been suspended pending the outcome of an internal review,” Delta officials said in a statement.
