Dental Hygienist Arrested on Suspicion of Molesting Teen Patient

A hygienist was arrested on suspicion of sexually molesting a teen-aged patient during her dental visits, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday.

Saul Robles was arrested at Smile Care Dental in Rosemead, where he’s worked for the past four years. He also has been working at the Smile Care Dental in Bellflower, authorities said.

A 15-year-old female patient was allegedly molested by Robles during the past six months when she visited the dentist, sheriff’s officials said.

The teen told her parents, who in turn notified police.

The alleged abuse happened "several times" between June and October 2012, said Lt. Carlos Marquez, with LA County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau. It began again in January.

"They were in a room by themselves so there were no witnesses," Marquez said.

Robles (pictured below) has been practicing as a dental hygienist for six years in the Los Angeles area, and authorities suspect there may be more alleged victims.

He is being held on $320,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5.
