LA Live Opens Ice Rink

Attendees of the Los Angeles Auto Show and Metro riders will receive $1 off

It's not exactly what you have in mind when dreaming of a winter wonderland, but for Downtown LA its close. An outdoor ice skating rink at L.A. Live opened Thursday with performances by LeAnn Rimes, Shelia E. and the E Family and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The 70-foot by 50-foot rink can accommodate 200 skaters and will remain open through Dec. 31.

The LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. Live will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight weekdays and 11 a.m. to midnight weekends though Dec. 17 and 11 a.m.- midnight daily from Dec. 18-31.

Admission is $10, which includes skate rental. Admission for active military and seniors is $5. Attendees of the Los Angeles Auto Show and Metro riders will receive $1 off by showing their ticket or Metro pass.

Other outdoor ice skating rinks are located in Pershing Square, Santa Monica and Redondo Beach.
