Glassell Park Area Hit With 3 Drive-By Shootings in 20 Minutes

Police have not yet apprehended the suspects from the first shooting, that injured a 13-year-old boy

Police are investigating multiple drive-by shootings in the Glassell Park area that left a 13-year-old injured Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The first shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. near Drew and Strada. There was a second shooting at 4:34 p.m. in the 3300 block of Cazador, and shortly thereafter there was a third drive-by shooting at Division Street and West Avenue 33.

Police believe the second and third shooting were retaliation for the first, which sent the teenage victim to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspects in the second and third shootings, which did not cause injuries, have been taken into custody, police said.
