More than 1,500 people have been arrested in the winter holiday DUI crackdown in LA County, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Between Friday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 25, officers from 100 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 1,520 people – almost 100 more arrests this year than during the same period in 2012.
Two crashes in the San Fernando Valley were believed to be alcohol-related on Thursday night.

The DUI crackdown is part of the Avoid the 100 DUI Campaign and involves checkpoints and directed patrols.
