Magnitude-6.6 Earthquake Reported Off Pacific Coast of Mexico

A magnitude-6.6 earthquake was reported Thursday morning off the Pacific coast of Mexico.

The quake was centered in the ocean about 150 miles southwest of Jalisco, Mexico, where weak shaking was reported. No tsunami warnings, advisories or watches were issued.

The USGS's initially reported the quake, in one of the world's most seismically active regions, with a magnitude of 6.9. There were not immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.
