A small earthquake was felt around Los Angeles early Monday, but there were no reports of any injuries or damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck shortly after midnight and was centered about 10 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and about 15 miles in depth.
"I felt it. It was a little jerk,'' Sgt. Matthew King of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Compton station, near the epicenter, told the Associated Press.
He said the office had no calls from the public or any reports of injury or damage.
A USGS website that records responses from people feeling quakes logged hundreds of hits from the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
