Prosecutors on Monday declined to charge a Pomona man arrested in connection with threatening schools on his Facebook page, police said.
Kyle Bangayan, 24, was arrested after police said he made threats to do harm to children at multiple elementary schools, police said.
But the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to charge him, said LAPD Detective Jeana Franco. Police declined to reveal the specific lanaguage of the threats, but said they did not name any specific targets, though they did reference Friday's massacre in Connecticut.
Officers from the LAPD's Northeast Division went to his parents' Los Angeles home to question him, and found a cache of weapons there, police said.
The nine weapons included rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammunition, the LAPD said Monday in a news release.
The weapons were seized and the man arrested at about 2 p.m. Sunday.
Both the LAPD and the FBI are investigating, according to a watch commander at the Northeast division.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck has announced an increase in patrols at LA's elementary and middle schools starting next year. He says threats are being taken seriously.
"We want to say, this is not tolerated here, and we will do whatever is within our power to stop it," according to Chief Beck.
