On the eve of the opening of the final film, die hard Harry Potter fans swarmed Whimsical Alley. The mid-Wilshire store which is home to the country's largest collection of all things Harry Potter.
"It's my first time that I'm going to dress up for it. I got my cardigan, and then I have skirt that I'm going to wear with hopefully my brother's tie if he let's me wear it," says Samantha Cassidy, a Harry Potter fan.
At the Pacific Theatre in Chatsworth, the first fans arrived at One o'clock this afternoon. That's more than 36 hours before the first showing. They were joined shortly afterwards by several others, all bringing tents or canopies and plenty of board games to pass the time.

"We got here yesterday morning. We woke up about 6:30 and got here a little before eight to get in line. There were already a bunch of people in front of us," according to Olivia Favela, a Harry Potter fan.
More fans camped out in Redlands. Each determined to get a good seat for the first showing, of the last Harry Potter film.
Back at Whimsical Alley, the cash register was in overdrive as fans scooped up everything from replica costumes to dragon figurines.
Store staff says for the past three weeks, they've been busy from the moment they opened until the moment they closed.
