Father Arrested on Suspicion of Murder in Shooting Death of Son

A physical brawl broke out between the two, police said.

A 53-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of his son Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Detectives responded to the 17400 block of Prondall Court in Carson at 6 p.m.

Sheriff's officials identified 53-year-old Anderson Lyiscott as the suspect and his son Jiovanni Lyiscott as the victim on Sunday.

Detectives said they learned the 18-year-old victim was in his bedroom when he and his father began to argue.

A physical brawl broke out between the two, and the father pulled out a firearm, detectives said.

Detectives said in a struggle over the gun, one shot was fired, and it hit the 18-year-old.

After being taken to a hospital, authorities said the teen died.

The teen's father was arrested.
