Palm Springs Air Museum
The Palm Springs Air Museum has a full day of exhibits and programs ahead. The 1 o'clock flower drop is the centerpiece of the moving day. What can you expect? A B-25 Mitchell bomber will fly by, casting some 3,000 carnations (red and white in hue) to the waiting people below.

Blue Star Museums, "...a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America," is now open for its annual summer run. Military families can visit hundreds of cultural and educational institutions, including the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, for free.

A pierside Memorial Day service next to the USS Iowa will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 27. The free event will include a "patriotic dance performance" courtesy of the San Pedro City Ballet as well as kid activities. Want to step aboard the battleship? "All active, retired and reserve military will receive complimentary admission to tour the Battleship IOWA Museum. Self-guided tours and ship admission tickets will be available for purchase."

Queen Mary
The Queen Mary Salute to Service will take place at the Long Beach-based ocean-liner from May 25 through 27, 2019. Along with "family-friendly activities," look for historical reenactments recalling the ship's service in World War II.
