Firefighters Don't Think Smoke Poses Health Danger

A large plume of black smoke filled the skyline above Ontario Monday night  flames roared into the night sky.   Thick smoke could be seen for miles and miles.

Ontario firefighters told The Channel 4 News the smoke did not pose a health danger.

The Channel 4 newsroom received a dozen phones call from viewers reporting the blaze.

Ontario Fire Department said no one was hurt.  The fire was reported at 5:14 p.m.   When firefighters arrived at Edison and Archibald Avenues they found recycled plastics and hay burning in a 5,000 square foot area.

Ontario Fire Department spokesman Capt. John Sitar said the fire did not pose a threat to people living and working in the area and that no evacuations had been ordered.
