Firefighters Don't Horse Around

Firefighters with power tools cut a trailer apart to  rescue two horses that were trapped when two vehicles crashed east of Palmdale,  a Los Angeles County fire spokesman said Wednesday.

The crash was reported at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday when two vehicles -- one  pulling a horse trailer -- collided at 101st Street East and East Avenue S-10,  west of Little Rock Wash, said Ray Dong, a supervising fire dispatcher in East  Los Angeles.

One person suffered minor injuries in the crash and two horses were  trapped in the trailer, Dong said. The horses were sedated while firefighters  used power tools to cut the trailer apart, Dong said.

"Once they got the trailer off them the horses were revived and  appeared to be OK," Dong said.
