Prop Plane Prompts Crash Fears

Firefighters responded to reports of a possible plane crash in Agua Dulce Friday morning only to discover that it was a mock aircraft not used for flight.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash was reported at 10:04 a.m. in the 33-600 block of Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

When they arrived they discovered a model bi-plane that appeared to have nose-dived into the sand in a remote area.

Fire department officials confirmed that it was not an operable plane, although they could not immediately say where it came from or why it had been left to look like a crashed plane.
