Amtrak cancels passenge rail service between Los Angeles and San Diego.

High water has forced Amtrak to cancel passenger rail service between Los Angeles and San Diego.

Water was reportedly threatening tracks in the Sorrento Valley area, near Del Mar.

The rail agency was ending southbound service at San Juan Capistrano, in southern Orange County, and reversing trains' direction there.

Metrolink trains originating at Oceanside were not running today, and all San Diego Coaster train service also was cancelled.

Rail service between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara was not affected.
