For Love or Money: Bargain Hunters Looking for St. Valentine's Gifts

As St. Valentine’s Day approaches, Southern California businesses are adjusting to the weak economic times to attract customers.

Many restaurants, florists, candy stores, hotels and other  businesses that depend on St. Valentine’s Day for revenue have said that they are offering special rates and packages to make this weekend a success. 

Most of the businesspeople that Channel 4 News spoke to said that they need to be recession-proof.

Still, some restaurant owners said despite the harder economic times, they are sold out for the Saturday.

One candy store manager and a florist said that while business is brisk, it's still less than in years past.
