Former Irwindale Police Officer Accused of Sexually Molesting Teenager

A former Irwindale police officer was charged Wednesday with sexually molesting a 14-year-old girl who was in the department’s Explorer Program.

Daniel Camerano, 27, was accused of beginning a sexual relationship with the teen and sending sexually suggestive text messages to another female Explorer.

The eight-year veteran was charged with one felony count each of using a minor for sex acts, sending harmful matter, oral copulation of a person under 16, sexual penetration by foreign object and two counts of contact with a minor for sexual offense, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
