Bicyclists hurt in South L.A. shooting

Four men were hospitalized after they were fired upon.

Four bicyclists remained hospitalized Friday after after a late night shooting in South Los Angeles, one of them in critical condition.

Two gunmen shot into the group of men around 11 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of E. 43rd St. and Long Beach Avenue in South Los Angeles. They then fled on foot, heading west on Vernon Ave., police said.

One is in critical condition and the other three are in stable condition, police said.

The case has been assigned to the gang unit at the L.A.P.D. Newton Division, said watch commander Dino Caldera.
