About 5,000 new books were distributed Friday to students and families in the Compton Unified School District.
The books were delivered to McKinley Elementary, Dr. Ronald E. McNair Elementary and Foster Elementary through a campaign by Access Books and the Book Foundation.
Tax-deductible donations to the campaign can be made by following links. All proceeds will go to the purchase of new books.
