Freeway Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Police are investigating a shooting on the 60 freeway in Jurupa Valley that left one dead and two others injured late Saturday evening.

The shooting on the westbound side of the freeway was reported at Main Street just after 11 p.m., officials said.

One person was pronounced dead and two others were taken to a hospital in unknown conditions, officials said.

Little information was given at the scene, but authorities said one of the vehicles involved in the shooting was black. A white Honda Civic was towed away from the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours as police investigated the shooting. The freeway was reopened after 7 a.m.

It was unclear what led to the shooting.
