Giovani Dos Santos Scores Again as LA Galaxy Draw Sporting KC 1-1

Brad Davis and Giovani Dos Santos exchanged goals in the first half, and the Los Angeles Galaxy earned a point against Sporting KC in their 1-1 draw on Sunday in Sporting Park Stadium.

KANSAS CITY – Brad Davis and Giovani Dos Santos exchanged goals in the first half, and the Los Angeles Galaxy earned a point against Sporting KC in their 1-1 draw on Sunday in Sporting Park Stadium.

Davis, a former Houston Dynamo star and USMNT stand out, scored the game's first goal in the 30th minute with a beautiful curl from the right side of the box into the top left corner of the net.

Giovani dos Santos leveled the game 12 minutes later when he scored his fourth goal in three matches for the LA Galaxy.

Gyasi Zardes led L.A. on the counter attack as he darted past defenders to the half-way line where he delivered a pass on target to dos Santos who was streaking down the right side of the pitch.

"It was a great play by Gyasi and I was one-on-one against the keeper," Dos Santos told Fox Sports One after the game. "I tried to do what I tried to do."

Dos Santos received the pass, stayed onsides, and just had Tim Melia to beat as he chipped a left-footed shot past the 29-year-old keeper and into the bottom left corner of the net for the equalizer.

The Galaxy came out in the second half with better defensive pressure and focus, but everything changed when left-back, Ashley Cole, received two yellow cards in under 30 seconds.

Cole was booked the first time for a delay of game penalty, and seconds later was shown a red card when his spikes were shown on a bad tackle. The call was obvious -- despite the Galaxy players outrage—and L.A. was forced to play with 10 men the rest of the way.

Players of the Game:

Giovani Dos Santos: Game-tying goal in 42nd minute.
Gyasi Zardes: Assist on game-tying goal in 42nd minute.
Brad Davis: Goal in 30th minute.

Three Takeaways:

1. Dos Santos Does it Again: LA Galaxy midfielder Giovani Dos Santos scored his fourth goal in three games as the Mexican national leveled the game at 1-1 on a fantastic finish in the first half.

2. Bend it Like Brad Davis: Sporting KC midfielder, Brad Davis, scored the game's first goal on a beautiful curling shot in the 30th minute. Davis, a former USMNT player, may have gotten himself an invite from Jurgen Klinsmann after that goal.

3. Lump of Cole: LA Galaxy left-back Ashley Cole committed a costly foul that got him booked by the referee for a second yellow card within a span of thirty seconds. The first card was for a delay of game, and was a silly mistake. The second was deserving and could have cost his team the game.
