A man was fatally shot in South Los Angeles Sunday night after a gunman apparently fired on a group of people standing in a parking lot, officials said.
LA County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the shooting, reported at about 11 p.m. in the 11100 block of Inglewood in the city of Lennox.
The 21-year-old who was shot was found with an apparent gunshot wound, deputies said. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses told detectives that the victim was hanging out with a group of people in a parking lot behind a building when the gunman opened fire. No one else was reported shot, detectives said.
