Police have found an 11-month-old boy who went missing from the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles on March 31, and reunited him safely with his mother on Wednesday morning.

Before he went missing, the boy was last seen in the care of his father's friend about 11:55 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of West Vernon Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police noted there is an ongoing custody battle for the toddler between the boy's mother and father, though no further details were provided.

Early on Wednesday, the toddler "was reunited with his mother," according to an LAPD statement.
