Hit the Greens to Help a Kid Attend College

Get in a round of golf and do some good for Chino Valley students.

That's what the district hopes you'll do at its first golf tournament fundraiser.

Inland Valley Daily Bulletin staff writer Suzanne Sproul writes that the money raised will go directly to the students in the form of scholarships.

Now that's something parents will really appreciate since the cost of college just keeps getting higher.

But is it such a good idea to start up a golf tourney, in these dismal economic times?

Even the district spokeswoman Julie Gobin concedes, "the economy is not on our side."
