A gunman shooting at cars near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street was killed Friday morning after a shootout with police, and much of the incident was caught on video.
In one clip obtained by NBC4 (embedded, above) the gunman calmly fires into a passing truck. The gunshot echoes through the neighborhood.
In another video, posted on Twitvid, one car swerves away from gunfire, while another vehicle makes a U-turn and speeds off.

Police responded to the shooting spree about 10:20 a.m. The suspect was shot and killed by police. He died at the scene.
A second person was also shot, possibly by the suspect. A fire official confirmed at least one person was transported by LAFD to a hospital for treatment.
No police officers were injured in the shooting.
"I had some bad feelings. I though maybe we should throw some things at him or call the police. It was a really terrifying moment for me," said witness Nick Weinstein.
"I kind of ducked down behind that water fountain and then, I ran into the bank," said another witness.
Police shut down a portion of the street near ArcLight Cinemas. The intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street remained closed at 4 p.m. Traffic was being diverted around the crime scene.
