One of the victims injured by a carjacking suspect who broke into a home and shot multiple people before shooting himself was speaking out about the terrifying scene Saturday.
The victim, who did not want to be identified, said a man burst into his home in the 3300 block of Daisy Avenue Friday around 10 a.m. and stabbed his father in the face with a kitchen knife before taking the family hostage.
"They're all OK right now," said the man, who was shot by a carjacking suspect fleeing police. His brother was also shot and the two were held hostage by the gunman.
Moments before SWAT teams raced to the home to rescue the family, the suspect led authorities on a wild chase.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers began chasing two suspects in a stolen Volkswagen Passat on the 105 Freeway around 9:40 a.m. Friday.
During the pursuit, one suspect got out of the car and allegedly fired shots at the occupants of a burgundy Dodge Durango. The occupants got out of the car and were unharmed.
A second suspect fled in the Passat and is still on the loose.

Officers followed the SUV into Long Beach, where the driver crashed at Maine Avenue and Wardlow Road and went into the home on Daisy Avenue.
When police entered the home, they found the suspect, only described as a man in his 20s, had apparently shot himself in the head. He was transported to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The victim and his father were treated at a hospital and were later released. His brother remains hospitalized in stable condition, and another brother was able to escape the horrific scene through a window.
The victim also told NBC4 he was grateful his mother and three sisters were vacationing in the Philippines during the incident.
