A driver who led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase at speeds up to 100 mph on Interstate 10 was arrested in Coachella, Calif., on Tuesday, an officer said.
The chase started near Rialto, and the suspect behind the wheel ran over some spike stripes as he drove east across the Coachella Valley headed toward Blythe, CHP Officer Ramon Perez said.
The 2001 GMC came to a stop east of Dillon Road, and the driver was arrested about 1:30 p.m., on suspicion of felony evading. It was unclear why the CHP tried to stop him.
