A man who had arranged to sell 50 iPhones Thursday in an area behind a mall in Garden Grove was robbed at gunpoint by the purported buyer and an accomplice, police said.
Officers were sent at 4:09 p.m. to Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue, where a man told them that he was robbed of the pricey cellular phones, Lt. William Eriksen said in a statement.
The man said that when he arrived with the phones, one suspect pulled a silver handgun and took the iPhones, Eriksen said.
It’s not known how the man, whose name was not released, had come into possession of the phones.
The suspects, described as being in their early 20s, fled in two separate cars, a white Toyota Camry and a blue Lexus, Eriksen said.
