A 12-year-old skateboarder hit by a car in South Gate late Wednesday has died, police said.
The boy was hit about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday as attempted to cross Firestone Boulevard between San Luis and San Juan avenues, according to South Gate police Capt. Darren Arakawa. The impact was so severe the skateboard ended up stuck on the hood of the car.
The driver stopped at the scene, and was not arrested.
The South Gate boy's name was not immediately released.
