Koreatown Man Found Dead

LAPD investigating possible drug link

LOS ANGELES - A 30-something man was found slain in a pool of blood in a Koreatown-area apartment, and police Wednesday said they suspect robbery or drugs may have been the motive.

The body was found in an apartment in the 700 block of South Oxford Avenue at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to LAPD's Media Relations Section. The man's name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin. He was of Korean descent, police said.

The man was apparently beaten and shot, police said.

Detectives interviewed a possible suspect, but no immediate arrests were made, police said.

Anyone with more information was asked to detectives at the Wilshire Station during normal office hours at (213) 473-0446, or the LAPD's 24-hour tipline, (877) 527-3247.
