Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies say they shot and killed a suspected robber in Compton after he pointed what turned out to be a toy gun at them.
Sheriff's Deputy Lillian Peck says deputies were chasing the man Sunday morning after he robbed a fast food restaurant. When they ordered him to stop running, the man turned and pointed what appeared to be a handgun.
Peck says deputies fearing for their lives fired at the man multiple times. The weapon turned out to be a replica handgun.
The man's name was withheld.
