3 in Custody After Burglary Leads to Standoff

The initial burglary report came from a South Gate apartment where a man confronted the subjects

Three people were taken into custody Wednesday morning after a three-hour standoff that followed a burglary report from an apartment south of downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department personnel and South Gate police responded to a home in the 13600 block of Racine Avenue in Paramount. Three armed burglars inside the house are believed to be connected to a burglary report from a property manager at a South Gate apartment, according to the sheriff's department.

Three men were taken into custody at about noon.

The initial burglary report came from an apartment manager occurred at about 8:30 a.m. The owner of a garage from which items were taken confronted the burglars and took pictures of them, then led police to the Paramount home -- identified by police as the residence of a gang member -- at which they were located, the manager told NBC4.

Tools, bikes and a gun were stolen from the storage garage.
