Body Found in Big Bear Lake Identified as Irvine Woman Reported Missing

Lisa Ann Cimbaluk's snow-covered vehicle was found Sunday at Woodland Trailhead in Fawnskin

A body found Thursday in the South Shore area of Big Bear Lake was identified Friday as that of an Irvine woman reported missing earlier this week, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office.

Details regarding a cause of death also were not immediately available. The body was discovered at about 10 a.m. during an aerial search,  which was part of an operation to locate 35-year-old Lisa Ann Cimbaluk, who was reported missing in the woods.

She was last seen by her parents Dec. 29.

Cimbaluk's snow-covered vehicle was found Sunday at Woodland Trailhead in Fawnskin, on the north side of the lake.  The search for Cimbaluk was called off for the day at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, but resumed Thursday morning.

The search turned up clothing and beverage bottles and other trash, according to the sheriff's department. But authorities noted the items were found in areas popular with visitors and residents, so the findings were not unusual.

More than 50 team members were part of the search earlier this week. Flyers with her picture were posted and handed out in the mountain community.
