Los Angeles Doctor Charged with Sexual Assaults

Doctor allegedly forcefully kissed and groped women in an examination room, authorities said.

A Los Angeles doctor has been charged with sexually assaulting at least four female patients between December 2010 and February of this year, authorities said Tuesday.

Dr. Steve Leong, 58, was arrested Friday and held on $150,000 bail. He worked at the Claude Hudson Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Leong allegedly forcefully kissed and grabbed the patients in an examination room, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department statement.

The victims told medical officials, who passed the case along to the Sheriff's Department, the statement said.

Detectives arrested Leong at his Arcadia home and prosecutors charged him with six misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, four misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and five misdemeanor counts of battery.

The Sheriff’s Department was looking for other possible victims. Anyone with additional information can call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273 or via the Department’s website at www.lasd.org.
