Local MAD Magazine Old-Timer Keeps on Going

BURBANK, Calif. -- A MAD magazine writer who lives in Burbank has been writing for the comedy rag for more than 40 years, and has no plans to retire.

Fresh out of the Army, Frank Jacobs joined the magazine in the 1960s, the Burbank Leader reported.

"I'm the least-known writer of hysterical light verse in the United States," Jacobs told the newspaper.

Jacobs has submitted a piece for the magazine’s 500th edition due out in April.
