Candlelight Vigil for Victims, Survivors of Drunken Driving Crashes

Doves were released into the sky at a candelight vigil Saturday in Long Beach as Mothers Against Drunk Driving honored those killed and those who lost loved ones to drunken driving crashes.

The vigil was aimed at remembering and honoring those who died in impaired driving crashes in 2016.

The vigil included victim speakers, a dove release, candle lighting at sunset, as well as releasing balloons. Families and friends joined together to remember loved ones on a beach setting overlooking the water.

MADD was founded by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunken driver. It is a nonprofit working to protect families from drunken driving and underage drinking.
