Man Beaten to Death, Dumped in Alley

A man was found beaten to death in an alley in the  South Robertson area of West Los Angeles, authorities said Thursday.

The slaying in the 8600 block of Guthrie Avenue was reported about 11  p.m. Wednesday, said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department's  Media Relations Section.

Resident Raul Ramos said that he found  the victim bleeding and choking in a nearby alley, and called 911. Ramos said he believes that the victim was beaten inside a parked vehicle he saw  occupied by two men, who then dumped the body in the alley and fled.

Arriving paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he was  pronounced dead, according to police. The man's name was withheld pending  family notification.

Faden said the death was being investigated as a homicide. A description  of the attackers was not immediately released.

Authorities said Thursday morning that they are questioning a person in connection with the case. Police also found a vehicle sought in connection with the case.
