A man was killed Saturday after being shot twice and then being struck by a car in a densely populated area of Los Angeles County, authorities said
Just before 3 a.m., the man was shot and on the ground at the intersection of 122nd Street and Western Avenue in Athens (map) when he was run over by the car, whose driver did not stop, sheriff's homicide investigators said.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Detectives said they did not have a description of the car. They're asking potential witnesses to come forward.
