A driver died after crashing into a power pole in Fullerton early Thursday.
The 28-year-old man also hit a hydrant with his pick-up truck in the incident, which occurred at the 200 block of East Imperial Highway at around 2:40 a.m, according to a statement from the Fullerton Police Department.
Police hadn't identified the driver, the statement said.
Water from the sheared hyrdrant was shooting around 40 feet into the air, causing flooding on the road, while power was cut for businesses on one side of the street, police said.

Officers were on the scene, investigating the crash. A SigAlert was issued for East Imperial Highway until at least around 11 a.m., police said.
