A man was found shot to death Tuesday night in the Westmont area of South Los Angeles, police said.
The shooting was reported around 9:21 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 102nd Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Detectives said the victim was walking westbound on 102nd Street when a man got out of a white SUV, pulled out a handgun and opened fire before returning to the vehicle that drove away.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting was under investigation.
