A man was fatally shot Sunday night by Los Angeles police in Eagle Rock.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Glendale Avenue, according to LAPD officer Art Rodriguez and Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Rodriguez said the fire department called the LAPD to request help.
LAPD officers say the man had a knife, and was not following commands. He then approached one of the officers, at which point police shot him. Detectives found a knife at the scene.
According to a tally from the LA Times, this is the 38th police shooting in 2021, and the 18th fatal shooting.
