Man Wanted for Fontana Armed Robbery

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A man who was caught on camera committing a brazen armed robbery of a Fontana cell phone store in broad daylight last week is wanted by police after fleeing the scene, authorities said Wednesday.

Surveillance video of the incident showed the man entering a cell phone store in the 17200 block of Foothill Boulevard just before noon on July 2 and holding an employee at gunpoint while demanding money, according to the Fontana Police Department.

With the gun still pointed at the employee, the man is then shown leaving the store with a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing in a white Chrysler 300 driven by another suspect.

The employee was unhurt.

The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, medium to heavy build with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a light gray hooded sweater, black shorts, tall white socks, a black hat and black shoes at the time of the robbery.

No description was available for the driver.
