A man's body was found floating in the lake at Magic Johnson Park in Willowbrook on Friday, but foul play was not suspected, sheriff's officials said.
The death was reported as a drowning at 12:22 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Firefighters pronounced the victim dead at the scene. It appeared he had been in the water for days.
"It's crazy because this park is so friendly. You never hear of anything bad happening at this park," said Sarah Fisher, who lives nearby.

The man was between 30 and 40 years old, but the circumstances of this death were not immediately available, according Sgt. Tony Hackett of the Sheriff's Parks Bureau. There were no immediate signs of trauma.
