A.J. Pollock joins the Dodgers for the first time after an eight-year stint with the rival Arizona Diamondbacks. Pollock was an All-Star and Gold Glove winner in 2015, and signed a five-year contract with Los Angeles in the offseason.

An oldie but a newbie. Catcher Russell Martin returns to the team that drafted him and gave him his debut after an eight-year hiatus with the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Toronto Blue Jays. Martin is a four-time All Star who began his career with the Dodgers in 2006.

After a dominating performance agains the Dodgers in the 2018 World Series as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Joe Kelly joined his hometown team as a free agent in the offseason. The right-handed reliever hails from Corona, CA and is excited to make his LA debut this season.

Not necessarily a newcomer, but rookie Alex Verdugo will start the season on the Opening Day roster for the first time in his young career. The 22-year-old has been called up a few times over the past two seasons, but 2019 will mark the first time Verdugo begins in the Big Leagues.
