Metro Investigates Woman's Claim of Sex Assault on Bus

Metro has opened an investigation into a woman's claim that a man sexually assaulted her on a bus.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she was on the 720 bus headed to downtown LA Thursday afternoon when she says she felt someone press on her rear end.

"The bus was crowded and a guy was rubbing his crotch against me," she said. "Thank God it was not out of his pants but it was pretty noticeable."

She said he got off the bus after she reported him to the driver.

Paul Gonzales with Metro says they are looking at surveillance video from the bus and have reported the incident to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Gonzales said they commend her for not keeping quiet.

"She did the right thing. She told the bus operator, he made a report and got an investigation started," Gonzales said. "We're going to be looking for this person, and if we find him, we're going to arrest him and we're going to prosecute him."
