Rams Vs. Seahawks: Pregame Info

The Los Angeles Rams return to the LA Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, and it's a big deal around town

Approaching 90 degrees at kickoff, the Los Angeles Rams will play at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum against former USC football coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks with a 1:05 p.m. Pacific Time kickoff scheduled.

The NFL returns to LA on Sunday, as the Rams play a home game in the City of Angels for the first time in 22 years. The Rams will look to get back on track following a slow start, and the Seahawks present an opponent the Rams beat twice a season ago.

Before the game, though, the LA Coliseum will be buzzing with life and activities.

Tailgating Parties

First of all, the USC Campus and its parking facilities are no-tailgating zones. Designated lots permit tailgating in designated parking spaces. A small canopy no larger than 10' by 10' can be placed in front of or beind each vehicle in the designated tailgating areas.

The Rams Fan Fest on Christmas Tree Lane in Expo Park will open five hours prior to kickoff. Also, a Bud Light Tailgate is taking place on Christmas Tree Lane on the East side of the Coliseum, where a giant 8-foot cup will be collecting signatures from Rams' legends and fans. A special "Rams Homecoming Brew" will be presented at the event, and fans of beer and LA's football team can purchase the special brew around town in early November.

Vivid Seats has a special tailgate party that opens three hours prior to kickoff, which is the same time the Corona Extra Beach House opens for tailgating at Gate 1.

Honoring Legends

Also, the Rams will honor local Olympians of past and present, including sprinter Michael Johnson and diver Greg Louganis. These Olympians are working to bring the Olympics back to Los Angeles in 2024, which would be the 40-year anniversary of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

The team will also honor Hall of Fame greats of the franchise--namely Eric Dickerson, Marshall Fault, Tom Mack, Orlando Pace, Jackie Slater and Jack Youngblood. The group of Hall of Famers will light the torch in the stadium following the coin toss to begin a new tradition and mark a new era of NFL football in Southern California.

Pace will also be presented with his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence at halftime, as the seven-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle only recently joined the Hall of Fame.

Concerts and National Anthem

About 30 minutes prior to kick-off, Los Angeles rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers will put on a special performance, and the team advises fans to grab their seats by 12:35 p.m. Pacific Time.

Grammy-award winning singer and former cast member on NBC's "The Voice" Cee Lo Green will sing the national anthem prior to kickoff.

Retro Jerseys

As a final note, the Rams will wear their throwback uniforms with the brighter blue and gold colors. Looking around the city, one has to imagine that the team sells more throwback retro jerseys and a change back to the old colors is in the works down the line.
