Police Thursday exchanged gunfire with several suspects who tried to rob a check-cashing business in the Westlake area, but no one was hurt, authorities said.
One suspect was arrested and a standoff started when two more suspects refused to give up. Police declared it a hostage situation when the suspects refused to let an unknown amount of persons leave the check-cashing business.
At 5 p.m. the standoff ended when the final two suspects gave up. No one was hurt.
