Missing Mountain Biker Found, Unharmed: OC Sheriff

A man who was reported missing while mountain biking in the canyons of Orange County has been found after an hourslong search, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Forty-year-old James Kretzschmar, of Irvine, was reported missing shortly before midnight Wednesday night, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Kretzschmar's wife said he went for a mountain bike ride in the canyons near the Ortega Highway, east of Mission Viejo, according to a news release from the IPD.

The missing mountain biker was found and "in good health," the sheriff's department tweeted at 1:31 p.m.

His vehicle was found in a parking lot off the highway, police said. The Orange County Sheriff's Department is involved in the search.

No foul play is suspect, police said.
