A big ogre will receive the 2,408th star Thursday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Shrek will get his star one day before the release of "Shrek: The Final Chapter."
Because an animated character cannot accept awards, Mike Myers, the voice of Shrek, will accept the star alongside a guy in a Shrek suit. The ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in front of Madame Tussauds Hollywood.
Shrek will join such animated figures as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Snow White and The Simpsons with stars on the Walk of Fame.
