Ontario Hosts Boys All-Star Game

As if the game of basketball wasn't exciting and competitive enough just on its own, here comes the Feinberg Academic All-American Classic to reinvent the definition of an all-star.

The FAAAC, scheduled for Saturday, will feature the finest high school boy's basketball players in the country who have also excelled in the classroom. Each participant chosen were among high school seniors or post grad students who have committed to attend a four-year institution in the fall.

Players were chosen based on academic strength, positive attitude, good character, and how they ranked with recruiting/scouting services.

The West roster includes Rialto's Andrew Bock (Creighton), Village Christian's Bak Bak (California), Etiwanda's Jordan Finn (Air Force), Campbell Hall's Keegan Hornbuckle (Colorado), Sylmar's Tyler Honeycutt will join his soon to be fellow UCLA Bruins Brendan Lane of Rocklin High, Windward's Anthony Stover and Reeves Nelson of Modesto Christian. The team will be coached by Loyola's Jamal Adams.

The East roster includes Windward's Darius Morris (Michigan), Windward's Malcolm Washington (Penn) and Mater Dei's dynamic duo, the Wear Twins - David and Travis Wear (North Carolina).

The North roster includes Mater Dei's Andy Brown (Stanford) and Bishop Montgomery's Justin Cobbs (Minnesota). The South roster does not include any players from Southern California.

Just before West takes on the East for the first game at 6 p.m., there will be the David Ellis Chrysler 3-point Shooting Contest. At 8 p.m., the second game will be North and South shortly after the MBT Slam Dunk Competition.
